The 20th biennial meeting of the International Society for Religion, Literature and Culture will take place in Chester, from 11-13 September 2020. One of the friendliest and most inspiring conferences I’ve had the pleasure of attending and contributing to, I will be convening the 2020 conference’s visual arts sessions.

The 2020 conference theme is “Transmutations and Transgressions”, an exciting and challenging theme when it comes to the crossroads of art and religion, especially when staged in public institutions like museums.

Read more about the conference theme in the CFP for the Visual Arts Session.

Are you an academic, curator, or artist working on the intersection of visual arts, museums, and religion (particularly the post-secular)? Make sure you submit an abstract before the CFP deadline of 1 December!

More information about the conference, key note speakers and the various panels can be found on the general conference website.
