Together with Ingrid Vermeulen and Natasha Seaman, I will be editing the upcoming volume of the Netherlands Yearbook for History of Art, themed The Artist’s Biography.

A super timely and challenging topic: how do artist and artwork relate to one another, what’s the role of biography in the academic discpline of art history, and how has biographical appreciation changed over time?
