When Museum Helmond asked me if I wanted to write an essay about the work of artist Fiona Lutjenhuis, I said yes immediately. I have been following and admiring the work of Fiona for quite some time now. Museum Helmond holds the brilliant triptych Agnus Dei (2024) in collection. This work became the departure point for an essay about fear, stories and imagination.

The essay is now published in the online depot of Museum Helmond. During their renovation, the museum highlights works from the collection here online, through essays by guest writers. It was fantastic to contribute to this growing online resource.

You can find the original Dutch essay here, and the English translation here.
